Elton John Signs Three Year Contract at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

Singer and songwriter Elton John has just signed a three year residency contract at the Colosseum Theater in Caesars Palace Las Vegas.

Shows are to begin September 28, 2011.

The contract calls for at least 16 shows during his stay at the famous casino. Elton is no stranger to Caesars either, his last stay was a five year show called “The Red Piano” from 2005 through 2009 where he played over 241 shows instead of the contracted 75.

The video below is his encore performance from his last show in 2009.

The new tour is titled “The Million Dollar Piano” and tickets for the first sixteen shows go on sale Monday, April.

Elton told reporters,

"Caesars Palace is just a perfect, idyllic place to play, and the show will be a gargantuan feast of music and imagery. I'm going to have a fabulous piano that Yamaha has been working on for four years, and that's the reason why the show is called 'The Million Dollar Piano.'"

Elton will be appear with his band, which includes Davey Johnstone on guitar, Bob Birch on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards. There will also be special appearances as schedules permit.

But the real question is if Elton will bring his new baby along for the ride.

Last December the sixty-two year old Elton and his husband, David Furnish, become the proud parents of Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, born in California via a surrogate mother.

Caesars Palace president Gary Selesner commented,

"We couldn't be more excited to once again welcome one of the world's most beloved entertainers, Elton John, to The Colosseum. During his last residency, Elton and his talented band brought so many memorable performances to Caesars Palace. We are looking forward to more incredible moments with Elton on-stage at The Colosseum and continuing our successful partnership."
